Jean-Pierre Briot's Research Interests

Research Interests

My motivation in research is curiosity ! And teaching is a nice way to try to understand better.

From my early years to current ones, I have been working on various topics, from programming languages, to computer music, to concurrent and distributed programming, to artificial intelligence, to multi-agent systems, to serious games.

I have been always interested in self-describing (reflexive) artefacts (software and systems) and self-adaptation. And personally, in theories about conscience. My personal experiments about this are through meditation.

Since 2017, I went back to work onto the musical domain (generation of musical contents and creativity), with the benefit of my understanding of deep learning.

Since 2023, I am retired, still emeritus, but working more slowly and without any more responsibilities. More time for composing and playing music and contemplation !
